Kitsap Tennis and Athletic Center is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization

In 1970, the Bremerton Tennis and Swim Club was created as a 501(c)(7) Non-Profit Social Club, later renamed the Bremerton Tennis and Athletic Club. In 2014, the organization changed its name Kitsap Tennis and Athletic Center transitioned from a 501(c)(7) Non-Profit Social Club into a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Charitable Organization.  This transformation marked much more than a name change.  Under our new status, KTAC began a journey to reach our community with new purpose and new vision, to share our passion for fitness, wellness, and, of course, Tennis in such a way that placed our facility in service to all of our Kitsap Communities.

KTAC MISSION

KTAC supports the development of an active, healthy and connected community through fitness, wellness and outreach programs for youth, individuals and family.

VISION

KTAC is our community’s hub for fitness, wellness and fun. Our center is an accessible and inclusive resource for all people to engage and explore opportunities for learning the values of lifelong fitness, sportsmanship and community building.

VALUES

  1. Fitness
  2. Wellness
  3. Sportsmanship
  4. Community
  5. Fun

As a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization, our Mission, Vision and Values are the guiding principles we here at KTAC use to engage and serve our community.  They serve as a roadmap for all that we do and how we do it.  These principles remind us of our duty to our community and our members.  We invite all in our communities to Be Fit, Be Well, Be Kind, Belong and HAVE FUN!

Non-Profit Community Outreach

At KTAC, our Community Outreach programs are designed to share our values in such a way that it enhances the quality of life for individuals and families throughout our community.  Our facility provides a tremendously effective and exciting forum for engaging our community.  KTAC is rich in opportunity to promote fitness and wellness while building a community that is active and healthy.  Our aquatics at tennis programs are excellent channels to help us engage with both youth and adults in fun and impactful ways, as well as providing our members and staff with opportunities to participate meaningfully in our outreach efforts.

Non-Profit Services at KTACOur center regularly hosts community events, inviting the public to enjoy our facilities and share in the fun here at KTAC.  Some of these events include our Kitsap Kid’s Learn 2 Swim annual Easter Egg hunt and Reindeer Games celebration.  These opportunities are fundamental to our ability to share our values and develop relationships throughout our Kitsap communities.  We know from generations of experience that the opportunity to be a part of a community like KTAC, that is both inclusive and dedicated to supporting individual and community wellness, can be life changing at any age.

The tennis community here at KTAC provides even more unique opportunities and avenues for our center to advance our mission.  On the courts at KTAC, one will find children as young as 3 years old and adults in their eighties.  There is a spectacular diversity among the players and our programs engage lovers of the game not just here at home but across the county, state and country.  We have cultivated a strong relationship with the United States Tennis Association and sponsor numerous USTA sanctioned tournaments each year, bringing players from all over right here to KTAC.  These events and the global community of people who share in the love of the game of tennis provide us the opportunity to build community as broad as the game of tennis can reach.

To think global and act local is a philosophy truly evident among our members, especially our tennis community.  These members regularly host social events to promote building strong social ties here at KTAC while sponsoring food drives for local food banks.  Annually, our members donate thousands of dollars to KTAC outreach programs including our Summer Tennis Camp Scholarship program.

Community Partners and Service

At KTAC we understand that good stewardship in our community also includes service outside of the Center.  KTAC supports other community organizations and programs like Stand Up for Kids and local Food Banks by collecting contributions from our members here at the Center.  We also provide support for local area Chambers of Commerce, The United Way, Habitat for Humanity, Abraham’s House and the Bremerton Central Lions Club. Each year, KTAC works to expand our outreach programs and help provide our community with greater access to fitness and wellness services here at KTAC.
