Community Outreach Programs
Kitsap Kids Learn to Swim
Who: 1st Grade students from Central Kitsap School District.
What: We need assistance in offsetting program costs enabling us to open the program to all elementary schools within the district.
Why: With over 180 miles of saltwater shoreline in Kitsap County along with 9 large lakes there is a huge need for Water Safety to be learned.
When: Classes are during the school day using district transportation.
How: You can assist by supporting financially towards the program or by volunteering in the water with the students.
Scout Water Safety
Who: Local Boy Scout, Girl Scout, and Cub Scout Troops.
What: Water Safety merit badges using the requirement for each level based on age and group, each participant also earns a fun patch.
Why: Scouts need to learn water safety to meet requirements for their age and level appropriate water safety merit badges.
When: Programs are set up at the request of the troop or pack leaders.
How: Instructors are hands on in the water leading Scouts through the process of earning their age and level appropriate merit badges.
